Restoring rail and reconnecting people

What is a LiteLine

?

Greenway Initiative (GI) have currently identified nearly 4000km of disused and underutilised railways in the UK. Typically under 50km in sub-urban and rural communities that if re opened would connect people to the main UK network and enhance opportunities.

By deploying lightweight zero-emission Very Light Rail (VLR) trains on these abandoned and forgotten about routes, Greenway Initiative can open lines quicker with much cheaper than traditional heavy rail.

CASE STUDY

Ironbridge Demonstration facility

In 2020, we developed a purpose-built environment to launch Revolution Very Light Rail (RVLR).  The Ironbridge site was ideally suited to achieving our vision of showcasing RVLR in a typical line reopening context.
